Dialogue Theatre Module

The module is also a resource for all theatre practitioners and facilitators seeking creative tools to engage communities, clients, peers, and colleagues in addressing challenging issues and conflicts. Dialogue Theatre is a powerful method to unpack those difficult conversations we are increasingly facing in various facets of contemporary life.

The module starts with a series of inclusive discussions, tableaux exercises, and small group improvisations to create the conflict scenario. Then the focus is on character development, exploring and expanding the diverse voices of the protagonists, as they become the vehicles for dialogue. The devising process draws together the character development and the conflict scenario, creating a narrative story, as the stimulus of the dialogue. Finally, audiences enter the process, participating in The Dialogue, as the actors, in character, engage with the audience members to unpack the issues exposed on stage.
