The Score

images.jpeg

The Score is a powerful participatory theatre work collectively devised by the ILBIJERRI Theatre Company and a diverse ensemble of First Nations actors to help break the stigma and shame talking about sexual health and healthy relationships. Led by Kamarra Bell-Wykes, together with Stefo Nantsou (Zeal Theatre) and Sarah Woodland (University of Melbourne), The Score involves a short 10-minute play, driven by music, dance and humour, with a workshop process that enables young people to work themselves into scenes, and culminates in community performances with opportunities for yarning across generations.

Free Theatre was privileged to play a small part in the devising process and on tour in the Riverina. The project continues to grow and evolve.
